magical beliefs.
It is traditionally believed that if a maiden collects nine different herbs or wildflowers from nine different meadows and places them underneath her pillow on Midsummer Eve's night, her future groom will appear to her in her dreams. Furthermore, it is believed that a fern (which doesn't flower) only flowers on Midsummer Night and this is meant to bring amazing fortune to the person witnessing it. This pattern has all the wildflowers that grow around my childhood home and which we used to collect in beautiful little bunches with my mother when I was little. And a bit of fern of course!
