an oil painting.
Star ornaments on a snowy blue-spruce tree, with cranberry-popcorn garlands, this design arose from an oil painting. It has an elegant design in colors of orchid, green, red, and purple violet. Artist Nancy Lee Moran sewed the cranberry strings and arranged them on a small tree in her yard, as references for her oil painting. Notes from the artist: Following a fresh snow in December 2013, I sewed garlands and draped them on a small spruce tree, for painting inspiration. My mother taught her children to string popcorn and cranberries at Christmas holidays. A long, fine needle works best to make garlands, so as not to crack the popcorn. Squirrels and birds enjoy these edible garlands. The ornament is in my own collection at home, but is silver in color. Buy a framed print or phone case of this art on Fine Art America.
